Seraphim's Lament

It was a dull evening. The children he had once cared for have long been adults, and him, left without a role to preform. Unlike his counterpart, he managed to find a semblance of peace in the promise the Lorekeeper gave them.

"I will find something to keep you both engaged."

Seraphim was the obedient one out of the two. He took the Lorekeeper's words to heart and often found himself seated in a lumpy chair, waiting for the Lorekeeper to follow through. His counterpart(or whatever one would consider the two) though, couldn't find the same willingness in their heart. It led to many arguments that set them aflame. For one, quite literally. And yet, it always ended the same. They'd find their way back to Seraphim after a few hours, and Seraphim would take the time to comb their hair. A peaceful respite amongst the turmoil that was brewing between the two.

Files now would note that Seraph often denies having prior association with the rebel. It's worth being aware that it's one of the few topics that will shut the Spirut up. I fear these files are likely to go missing though, liking everything that is written about Seraph. Because of this, I'd like to ask you to hold on to this. Yes, I'm aware we'll both likely be in trouble, but nothing of harm will occur. I'm still the one he cares for, somewhat at least.

"Ashhur." His voice was a melody, seating itself in the back of Ashhur's mind. "You cannot keep ignoring me like this."

The second Spirut leaned their head up to gave at who was hovering above them. Seraphim, once again. "I wouldn't ignore you for so long if you simply allowed me time to reset," Ashhur cooly responded, looking back to the children's book in their hands.

A frown crossed Seraphim's face, one he wished he kept to himself. He moved to Ashhur's right, settling down besides the other. "You've plenty time," he cooed, leaning against the blonde. A rather pitiful attempt at garnering attention for himself, really. Something he'd never think of just a few months prior. "I find myself terribly bored as of now."

"Then bored you will be, if you do not get off of me right this moment." Ashhur swatted Seraphim away, dismissing his presence as a bug of sorts. Perhaps a fly, for he is as annoying as one.

Frankenstein:

How can I move thee? Will no entreaties cause thee to turn a favourable eye upon thy creature, who implores thy goodness and compassion? Believe me, Frankenstein, I was benevolent; my soul glowed with love and humanity; but am I not alone, miserably alone? You, my creator, abhor me; what hope can I gather from your fellow creatures, who owe me nothing? They spurn and hate me. The desert mountains and dreary glaciers are my refuge. I have wandered here many days; the caves of ice, which I only do not fear, are a dwelling to me, and the only one which man does not grudge. These bleak skies I hail, for they are kinder to me than your fellow beings. If the multitude of mankind knew of my existence, they would do as you do, and arm themselves for my destruction. Shall I not then hate them who abhor me? I will keep no terms with my enemies. I am miserable, and they shall share my wretchedness. Yet it is in your power to recompense me, and deliver them from an evil which it only remains for you to make so great, that not only you and your family, but thousands of others, shall be swallowed up in the whirlwinds of its rage. Let your compassion be moved, and do not disdain me. Listen to my tale; when you have heard that, abandon or commiserate me, as you shall judge that I deserve. But hear me. The guilty are allowed, by human laws, bloody as they are, to speak in their own defence before they are condemned. Listen to me, Frankenstein. You accuse me of murder, and yet you would, with a satisfied conscience, destroy your own creature. Oh, praise the eternal justice of man! Yet I ask you not to spare me; listen to me, and then, if you can, and if you will, destroy the work of your hands.
